Bishop Maurice Wright

Bishop Maurice Lamonte Wright is the son of Bishop Dr. Marion & Leatha
S. Wright. He was born December 12, 1974, in Georgetown, SC where he lived the first
six years of his life. He and his family moved to Durham, NC in May of 1981 when his
father was led by God to begin a ministry. He received his education through the
Durham Public School System and graduated from Northern High School in 1993 with
honors. He then went on to further his education at UNC-Chapel Hill for three years,
majoring in English and minoring in Music.

Bishop Maurice Wright has proven to be a multi-talented individual with the
ability to play eight musical instruments. He has ministered musically in numerous
churches and ministries of various denominations, both nationally and internationally.
His deep concern for young people has led him to work with several youth choirs. He
has recorded with over ten gospel album projects. His goal of opening Wright Touch
Music School became a reality in April of 1997. The students receive specialized vocal
and musical training on the piano, organ, keyboard, and saxophone. The music school
further expanded in 2016, including saxophone serenades and collaborations with many
national recording artists. On November 5, 2021, Bishop Wright released his
first saxophone instrumental on all digital musical outlets around the world with the hit
single entitled, "Love Is An Action Word". This is an original piece comprised of smooth gospel jazz, beautifully written in loving memory of his deceased mother, Lady Leatha Wright. On December 12, 2021, Wright Touch Entertainment Group was officially
established as his own record label, which encompasses the training, development, and
producing of national recording artists of various genres. This entity has since sponsored
Holiday Extravaganzas and hosted a "Night Of Worship" featuring amazing artists connected with the label.

Bishop Maurice Wright was called into the preaching ministry in April of
1993 and was licensed to minister through Aenon Bible College in 1994. Since then, he
has been preaching and teach
ing the Word of God both nationally and internationally
leading thousands of lost souls to Christ. He is the Founder and Visionary of Wright
Touch Ministries, Inc., which is a Non-Profit and Community based religious
organization, established in November of 1996. He was also the Presider of Faith
Perfecting Praise, New Destiny National Youth Convention, High Praise National
Convention, and Faith Family Friends Forever Conference. In February of 2000, he
established MLW Ministries, Inc., where he operates in the prophetic anointing. In April
of 2004, God called him into the pastorate, and he started New Destiny Christian
Fellowship. The church motto is “Determined to Empower the World to Achieve Divine
Purpose,” (2 Corinthians 5:17). Bishop-Designate Wright focuses on teaching God’s
people the importance of becoming totally obedient to God’s Word, will, and way for
their lives. The Church name later changed to New Dimensions Fellowship Church in
April of 2014. In July of 2014, Bishop Wright was ordained as an Elder by the

Pentecostal Assemblies of the World. On February 24, 2019, Bishop-Designate Wright
was presented The Living Legacy Unsung Hero Award from Apostle Mario Davis of
Victory Cathedral of Churches for providing a legacy of strength and a future of hope
while impacting and empowering the lives of citizens and especially youth in his
community. On November 20, 2021, Bishop Wright received two Honorary
Doctoral Degrees; Doctor of Divinity and Doctor of Sacred Music from The Arize
Institute of The Five-Fold Ministry based out of Mebane, NC. On April 25, 2023,
Bishop Wright received his Certificate of Affiliation with all rights and
privileges from United Covenant Churches of Christ under the righteous leadership of
Bishop G. E. Livingston. On September 2, 2023, New Dimensions Fellowship Church
officially became a part of Kingdom United Fellowship of Churches under the righteous
leadership of Chief Presiding Prelate, Apostle Linda Cohen. On November 10, 2023,
Bishop-Designate Wright accepted the episcopacy, becoming the new Diocesan Bishop
of the State of North Carolina.
